Some of my observations of the St. Jude Marathon weekend…
The St. Jude Heroes – They are amazing, caring, and generous people who, through participation in the race, raise money for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
The people of Memphis and the St. Jude employees and volunteers – They have embraced St. Jude Hospital and the children treated. They cover it with love.
“Thank you for running for St. Jude.” – Words often heard over the last 3 days.
The loving parents and beautiful children – This race is a family affair.
The signs – “Thank you for running for our Angel.” Signs like this are seen often on the race course. Sadly, it’s a gentle way of saying, “Thank you for your concern. Our child is in heaven now.”
The supporters that line the marathon route – Even on a cold Saturday morning, they came out in force.
Seeing old friends and making new ones – Enjoying fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ through Team 413.
Team 413 stories – People sharing how God is using Team 413 and a simple bible verse on the back of a running shirt to change the world.
Witnessing what “the Christ who strengthens me” can do!
Much more on St. Jude to share…
Come run with me.
